Grandpa has a way of making everything
OK
With a smile or with a look or with a word to say
If I had a million years I'd change em for a day
With my great great grandpa
The father of my grandma
Is the grandpa of my dad
He's the greatest grandpa that I ever had
The mother of my grandma
Is the grandma of my mom
She's a great great grandma
On my special day I know that something will arrive
Even if she's far away or going for a drive
If I had a million bucks I trade em for a five
From my great great grandma
Grandpa is much greater than a birdie in the sun
An eagle would be nice but it wouldn't get it done
If I got a whole in one I'd trade it for some fun
With my great great grandpa
If I got in trouble for not being very nice
And I'm sitting in my room and paying a big price
I would escape to the Pines of Paradise
With my great great grandma
2006: My grandparents celebrated their 70th (Together At 70) wedding anniversary and we had a big party. All of the great grandchildren sang this song for them. I don't know how many there were but there were a bunch. I tried to put some personal things about my grandparents. My grandma used to send all of the great grandkids 5 dollars on their birthday. I mean there are like 50 of these kids (someone comment who knows). Well this song is special to me because my grandma thought it was the greatest thing in the world. At least she told me that all the time. I don't know what to write specifically there are so many things. I just can't get that number-70 years of marriage- out of my mind. I'm looking at it. I know it's right, but I keep doubting it. Could people who remember this stuff comment with details? My grandma is passed and on the day of this post my Grandpa is celebrating his 96th birthday.
Above is a picture of my grandpa and 4 generations of his posterity.
