Just A Few Words July 1990
I'd like to show you how I feel about you today
Even at the risk of being special
Cause I don't mind discomfort just to hear you say
You're mine
I ain't got no money to buy you the world
And I don't have romance for a poem
I could give you roses but soon they would be gone
Just a few words go on and on
Just a few words I say to you
When I'm alone security is found
The comfort of knowing your my friend
With you around I can conquer the world
That's just how you make me feel
This isn't love from wanting to love
This isn't love of being love of being loved
This isn't love of things
This is the truth
Just a few words I say to you
I ain't got no money to buy you the world
And I don't have romance for a poem
I could give you roses but soon they would be gone
Just a few words go on and on
Just a few words
Um you're alright
Bless your heart
I say to you
Just a few words
July 1990: The summer of 1990 I wrote a bunch of mushy/special songs. Elaine was working in Chatsworth and I was here in Bakersfield. We were engaged and would see each other on the weekends. During the week, when we weren't working, we'd talk on the phone. When Elaine was working and I wasn't, I'd write special songs.
